West Sacramento, United States - August 24, 2019 /NewsNetwork/ —

West Sacramento, CA – The Ramos Oil Company family has been a proud supporter of the American Heart Association (AHA) for many years. AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. The Ramos family has first-hand experience with the support offered by the American Heart Association, as two of their family members live with heart conditions.

“Our family understands and sympathizes with how tough it is to live with a heart condition,” said Dillon Ramos, a member of the Ramos Oil management team, “We want to support others who are affected by heart conditions. We are proud to support the American Heart Association and the ground-breaking work they are doing to save lives!”

According to the AHA, heart conditions are the leading cause of death in the United States, and over 92 million Americans are living with some type of cardiovascular disease. AHA offers support for patients who suffer from heart conditions, and the organization has also invested over $4 billion in innovative medical research. Monetary donations are a great way to support the AHA because more funding means more support and research for heart patients. Volunteering and advocating for the AHA are other ways individuals can contribute to the AHA cause.

British prime minister's aide divides, but will he conquer?

Sep 22, 2019

LONDON — To some, he's a strategic genius. Others call him a mayhem-loving anarchist. Everyone seems to have an opinion about Dominic Cummings. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's most powerful aide — dubbed "Boris' brain" by some — is an enigmatic backstage operator who shuns media attention, yet has been played onscreen by "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch. Since taking office two months ago, Johnson has made a series of bold moves: Promising Brexit "do or die," dealing ruthlessly with party rebels and controversially suspending Parliament. Many see Cummings' hand at work in the strategy, which has left Westminster shaken and...

Customers have used the platform to call the book "anti-white racist drivel" and "fiction" and accuse the Juventus forward of choosing to "play the race card" and "coming across as a racist herself." Aluko, who is black, and her publishers have asked Amazon to delete the racist...

'London literary pub' tour brings writers and writing home

Sep 22, 2019

LONDON — A bartender asks Gavin Smith whether he fancies a citrus pale ale or Kolsch-style lager at the Newman Arms — a London pub dating back to 1730. The 47-year-old Liphook, England, resident makes his choice, then walks to a spot where writer George Orwell reportedly drank his favorite ales. Orwell based the "Proles" pub in his dystopian novel, "1984," after the Newman Arms. He also featured it again in his novel, "Keep the Aspidistra Flying." Sitting at the Orwell table, Smith closes his eyes and attempts to absorb any energy left behind by his favorite scribe. "I want...

The Latest: Queen approves request to suspend Parliament

Sep 22, 2019

LONDON — The latest on Brexit (all times local): 3:30 p.m. Ireland's foreign minister says it's too late to renegotiate Britain's departure deal from the European Union. Foreign Minister Simon Coveney on Wednesday reiterated Ireland's opposition to the EU renegotiating the Brexit agreement approved by former U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May. Coveney said there wouldn't be enough time before Britain's Oct. 31 departure deadline "even if we wanted to" reopen the negotiations. He estimated working out a new deal and getting it approved by EU leaders and British lawmakers "would need six or eight weeks." However, Coveney says Ireland is...
